Festive Fun for everyone: South Cambridgeshire's Christmas Market brings yuletide cheer!
For a third year running, South Cambridgeshire District Council is hosting an indoor Christmas Market this winter – with plans to be bigger and bolder than ever.
On Saturday 7 December, Cambourne Village College is once again playing host to our festive extravaganza, with a vast range of goods from independent businesses and market stallholders. Open from 11am to 3pm and entry is free.
The Council’s annual Christmas Market celebrates the coming together of local residents and tradespeople, combining yuletide cheer in Cambourne, and the opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts and celebrate the spirit of the season - with only a few sleeps until the big day!
There will be around 100 local business stalls who will present the public with arrays of wonderful gifts and edible goods – the largest market run by the District Council to date.
As ever, a tantalising line-up of food vendors will cater to visitors, offering warm and festive treats, whilst Mrs Claus’ Workshop will keep the children entertained with craft activities. There’s something for the whole family to enjoy!
Cllr Peter McDonald, Lead Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said: “We're thrilled to be hosting this year’s Christmas market, which promises to be a truly magical experience for the whole community. With a fantastic range of local stallholders offering superb gifts, crafts, and festive treats, there’s something for everyone. Plus, our delicious food and drink options will keep everyone warm and happy as they enjoy the holiday spirit. We can’t wait to see you all there and kick off the festive season together!”
If you are able, please walk or cycle to the event. A bicycle lock-up will be available at the college. There are also several buses that stop regularly in Cambourne with a short walk to the College. If you do need to drive, please park in the Cambourne Village College car park. Volunteers will be on hand to direct you to available parking bays. Parking will not be permitted along Sheepfold Lane or the approach to Cambourne Village College. This year, a one-way traffic system will be in operation to prevent congestion and visitors will be asked to follow any directional signage in place.
There will be approved photography taking place during the event.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming you all on Saturday 7 December 2024.
