We have a range of local activities within South Cambridgeshire, from indoor to outdoor sports including netball, cycling and pickleball.
How we support local activities
Our Physical Activity Coordinator supports communities in South Cambridgeshire to live a more healthy and active lifestyle. This involves engaging with communities and schools to understand what physical activity events and sessions they would like to bring to their community. We can support by:
- signposting to grants and funding
- helping to plan and deliver sessions or projects
- assisting with venue hire and equipment purchases.
Accessible activities
We have been supporting groups that deliver activities for participants living with long-term health conditions. To find out what activities are taking place near you, please read our activities supporting long-term health conditions webpage.
Living sport have resources and events for accessible sports for those with additional needs or a disability.

Living Sport
Living Sport is a Cambridgeshire and Peterborough organisation that aims to get more people playing sport and living active, healthy lifestyles.
Living sport is made up of individuals and organisations - including ourselves - with an interest in sport and physical activity.
Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Played both indoors or outdoors on a badminton-sized court and a slightly modified tennis net. 2 or 4 players use solid paddles hit a ball over a net.
Even though pickleball is like tennis, there are important differences that make pickleball especially more accessible for children and seniors.

A qualified netball coach runs the 1.5 hour sessions: coaching, developing skills and teaching the rules through fun activities. Sessions are designed to suit all abilities - no previous netball experience or knowledge required.
