Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme
The Ukraine Permission Extension scheme enables you to apply to extend your stay in the UK for a further 18 months after your Homes for Ukraine, or other valid Ukrainian visa expires.
The Ukraine Permission Extension Scheme (UPE) opened for applications on the 4 February 2025.
You may apply for the UPE scheme 28 days before your Homes for Ukraine, Ukraine Family Scheme, or Ukraine Extension Scheme visa ends. You must have a UKVI account and access to your eVisa. Please note, you must also be in the UK when you make your application. Your application will not be valid and may be rejected if you apply from outside the UK.
It is free to apply for the UPE scheme, and if your application is successful, you will be able to continue to live, work and study in the UK and access public funds.

- The guest is working for the host/ providing services in lieu of rent.

Before your guests apply to UPE
Before your guests apply to UPE you must ensure:
- Your guest must have signed up for a UKVI account, and transitioned to an eVisa.
- Ensure you and your guest/s are aware of the Homes for Ukraine visa end date/s. It is crucial they know this date so they know when they can apply for UPE. They can obtain this through the view & prove your immigration service
- Make sure your guest has provided us with their HFU visa end date via the view & prove your immigration service to provide their end date to HFULiaison@scambs.gov.uk
After an application has been made
Please complete our UPE Host Payment request form to submit a new claim for your host payments to continue.
Before completing this form, please ensure you have:
- the full name and date of birth of all your guests
- the date they applied for UPE
- a new share code that has been requested after the UPE application has been submitted.
